With the child sponsorship program, the students at school are fed a small meal of breakfast and lunch each day. This consists of a breakfast of porridge, and a lunch of posho (a cornmeal substance). Porridge and posho will fill hungry tummies, but they lack the vital vitamins and protein young growing bodies need.
Thanks to donations, the school has been occasionally able to buy nutritious foods such as beans, fish, and vegetables to add to the children’s diet. The impact of this has been incredible. The students become more engaged in their lessons, which improves their grades. Parents and guardians also encourage their children to go to school as they know they will be receiving a nutritious meal, something they are unable to provide for them at home.
You can help provide breakfast and lunch to the students of Christian Upliftment School for only $6.75/month. Each month, your donation
will go directly towards buying food as well as seeds and livestock (chickens) to help the school become self sufficient.
To keep you updated on how your support is making a difference, you will receive quarterly updates with progress reports which will include details of what was purchased or grown, as well as photos. If you currently sponsor a child at the school, please feel free to request your child’s photos be sent to you in replacement of the group photos you would receive.
